Galileo Varsity Girls Volleyball
2004
-With 2 returning players from last year's runner-up squad, Galileo improved
enough to upset Wallenberg and then toppling Balboa, 3-2, for the #4 playoff
seed. However, the day of the playoff game left many hearts in gloom,
as the AAA's commissioner, phoned in a call to say that Galileo had used
an illegal player for the Mission and ISA games, thus forfeiting those
matches and dropping the lady lions 1 game below Balboa who was awarded
the #4 playoff seed.
Despite this clerical error, the season was still a very successful one
under first year varsity coach, Phillip Phung who led a young team to
a 6-3 record. Senior, Alison Meseke paved the way with key hitting in
the middle for Galileo.
