Galileo Varsity Football 2004

-Balboa's 64-43 thrashing of Galileo knocked the Lions out of playoff contention. In a game that was suspended with 2 minutes remaining due to darkness on a late Friday night, Galileo gave up another touchdown on the following Monday when the Bucaneers return to finish the final 2 minutes. Without anything to play for, Galileo finished their final game against Marshall with quarterback, Andre Richmond, returning for his only appearance of the season due to grades.

Never has an upset felt so bitter: Galileo's opening game against Burton in which they lost on a final touchdown was the difference in making the playoffs and if Galileo had won, they would have been a #2 seed.

-Terrell Martin scored twice on the ground but the Eagles escape Galileo's bid for the first win of the season. Martin also hauled in an interception and linebacker, Jonathan Ale recovered a fumble in the first half. Washington scored late in the fourth quarter and took the lead on a 2-point conversion.

Galileo falls to 0-3 as their playoff hopes are diminishing. With undefeated Lowell up next and a touch matchup with Balboa in another possible matchup similar to last season in which Galieo beat the Bucs for the final playoff seed, the Lions will have to do it the old fashion way, "earn it".

-Galileo dropped two games early as their number of players continue to dwindle down week by week. Injuries have sidelined starting senior quarterback/safety, DJ Hendley and starting junior tailback, Gary Silifaiva on a roster of 18. With sophomore quarterback, Deante Bernstine knocked out of the Carlmont game in the third quarter with a bruised wrist, things are beginning to look worst with one more pre-season game remaining until the regular season gets rolling. However, help is on the way as Galileo will add 3 to 5 players for the next game at Sheldon. Senior cornerback/receiver, Michael Lewis might have to take care of some quarterback duties.

Junior receiver, Zarius Galloway, scored a touchdown in each of the first two games to keep Galileo from being shut out twice.
